 "Exceeds Expectations" 2009-07-15
By Robway (Wyco, NY)
Arrived on scheduled date securely-packaged with all parts needed and free of defects. Instructions were clear, logical and well illustrated which made the assembly possible in just over an hour and an experience free of frustration. This is a solid product made of materials that are superior to other grills of similar price and features that I examined prior to purchase. After heating the grill on high for an hour to break it in, it was ready for use. A thermometer placed on the grates proved that the grill temperature could reach 350-400+ degrees. Adjusting the three burners to regulate the cooking temperatures will continue to be a learning experience. For example, beer-can chicken will do better by turning the middle burner off and using the front and back burners only. I use heavy-duty cover w/o vents protects the grill from the varying weather elements in WNY as I grill year round. To date, this is the best grill I have purchased and I expect more than the usual 2-3 years of service I've experienced with other models.

"Very good BBQ - great for novice BBQ'r!" 2009-07-05

Takes time to put together - but basically easy with some organization and patience. Have a couple basic tools (power driver with bolt attachements makes for faster work) and an extra set of hands for a brief portion of assembly and you're up and grillin' in 2 or 3 hours.

"The Best Grill of It's Size" 2009-06-27
By Ancient Mariner (Maine, USA)
After careful study of the excellent and easily understood assembly instructions, the grill went together neatly in a couple of hours enjoying the high quality of the components and perfect fit of all the parts. There were even a pair of spare pins for the hood pivots. The box in which the grill is packed is superbly designed and protects all the parts perfectly. A 7/16" socket wrench is handy instead of the stamped one that comes with the grill parts. Everything is bolted together with heavy, stainless steel bolts screwed into mostly pre threaded sockets.

Only a government engineer might have trouble assembling this grill.

The directions show needing two men to handle the grill/burner box installation in the frame, but one man can do the entire job alone. I'm 78 and had no problems.

As with other Weber products, you get what you pay for. If you enjoy buying and assembling a new grill every year or so and having mixed results with your grilled foods, don't buy a Weber. You'll be stuck with great grilling and having to use a Weber Genesis for ten or more years. Our close friends have been using theirs almost daily for twelve, and have only needed to replace the grates once. That sold me on buying this grill.

The ease of both direct and indirect grilling with the three individual burners and the shielding of them by the flavorizer bars is a real pleasure after coping with flareups on charcoal and other design grills.

The design for collection and removal of grease is excellent using disposable aluminum trays, several of which come with the grill to insert in the steel grease collection holder. The small disposable trays sold by Amazon are the same as the ones that come with the grill. To clean the cooking surfaces, just run the grill on high for ten minutes, allow it to cool completely, and the residue comes off easily with a brush.

The thing feels as solid as a tank and rolls around easily on large rollers, the front pair of which lock.

I suggest the Veranda collection BBQ Cover, large size, to protect the grill outdoors, instead of the Weber model cover which lets the rain in on the burner control knob shelf and the side burner.

 "Impressive performance" 2009-06-15
By R. Romero (Los Angeles, USA)
Picking this grill was not easy. I was replacing a 10 year old Cook-On grill from BBQ Galore and wanted something similar as far as cooking ability and sturdiness. Unfortunately, upon researching grills for weeks, it seems that there's a huge gap between "low priced" grills and "high end" grills. Out of the box, expect about 2 hours putting it together. Everything fits well and it's easy to put together. Fit and finish are good, the only complaint I have is that it is difficult to fit the stainless shelves into the frames without scratching the powder finish - no big deal. I'm completely satisfied.

Pros:

-Easy assembly, although it requires almost full assembly.

-Everything fits nice, main components such as burners already assembled.

-Decent price for the quality

-Lit immediately and gets hot very fast.

-Very even heating - performance is excellent

Cons:

-Knob placement is strange. If you use the side-burner, you will have almost no room on the shelves - why not place the dials up front? I guess they want you to move up to the Summit Series?

- Accessory hooks are kind of recessed and large so they will not fit all utensils. Maybe the Weber ones fit?
