 "Great Grill" 2009-07-22
By B. Burton
We already own a very big stainless steel/granite grilling system but, most of the times the grill we have is too big for our family needs. There are only four of us (my wife and two boys) and we do not need a big size grill on a daily basis. The time it takes for the grill to heat up is very wasteful.

We already own many Cuisinart products in our kitchen, so I was excited to now have a Cuisinart Grill. I was very impressed how easy and fast I was able to assemble the grill. It mostly comes assembled with only the leg support needing to be assembled. This was pleasant compared to the long hours it takes to assemble a full size grill. Within 15 minutes from unpacking it was ready to grill.

This grill is very attractive looking and I liked easy start/variable heat control knob similar to the type on an indoor stovetop. We set the grill on one of our patio side tables on our deck. We grilled chicken and asparagus one night and steak and green squash next night. I used the HIGH setting to sear the meat then reduced it to MEDIUM. The Cuisinart Grill is now our everyday grill leaving our big grill for larger gatherings. Because we love grilled foods, and this size can be portable in my car, I might even take it to our upcoming family vacation to Wisconsin.

 "Not hot enough" 2009-07-20
By The Wood (Utah)
I ordered this unit after the other reviews noted how hot it was.

That is just nonsense. It took me so long to get a good grill mark on the outside of a inch thick steak that it wound up being well done. I hate well done meat and bought this thing because I thought it would put out the BTU's. Nothing I did could make it perform any better.

It would be great for melted cheese sandwiches or thin well done meat patties but otherwise it is just a toy. At least the kids won't burn themselves.

Tried getting it as hot as I could first and then putting in the steak.

Well it never got above 400 degrees and even when I did that I got no real satisfaction. The steak was still too well done by the time the outside was browned.

You will spend a whole lot less on a hibachi, it will do a much better job.

"Lots of Bang for the Bucks!!!" 2009-07-08
By Daniel F. Moore (Yarmouth, Maine USA)
As other reviewers have stated, this is a lot of grill for a portable. It heats up quickly and the cast iron grate produces those 'killer grill marks' that are the signature of any grillmaster.

A couple of things about the grill that aren't mentioned: the grate is reversible. Why would you want to do this? On one side, the bars of the grate come to a point, like an inverted 'V'. This is fine for steaks and more 'solid' foods. If you turn the grate over, the surface is flat and wider. If you are grilling burgers or delicate foods, it is easier to get a spatula under the food for easy turning. One other point: You can attach a hose to the grill and use your 20lb. propane tank. I called Cuisinart and they confirmed that you could do this if you made sure that the connections were free of leaks. This ensures that you will always have plenty of fuel (if you check the tank or have a pressure gauge) when you need it and can grill for longer times.

I am pretty much of a charcoal person but this one was too good to pass up. The weather has been just awful here and though it says that we are in the summer season, it just continues to rain and rain.... The yard is a swamp even when the sun does make a rare appearance so I just place the Cuisinart on the picnic table and in a couple of minutes, we are ready to grill. I really can't say enough about how well this one is built and more importantly, how it performs. Even the stainless veggie tray is a recognition by the manufacturer that people's tastes go beyond traditional grill fare. In short...buy it...it's a bit pricey for a portable but in this case, it is true that 'you'll only cry once'!

"Throw another shrimp on the barbie!" 2009-07-02

I live on the second floor of an apartment complex and was looking for a portable grill to use on my balcony. I have owned several "table top" grills, but none have been as high quality as this beauty. It is made with the best materials and comes almost fully assembled. All you need to do is attach the stand with four screws...takes roughly 6 minutes. It is easy to transport by using the carry handles and the side tables fold in when not in use. I recently brought this on a camping trip and was able to feed 13 people for 4 days on only 2 cylinders of propane. Talk about some happy campers! I would buy this again in a second and once people see it for themselves, they instantly want one. I also recommend the custom grill cover to keep it in pristine condition...for 20 extra dollars, its a no brainer.

Cuisinart did it again with another excellent product. The price may seem high, but I am confident that this grill will be with me for many seasons to come.

This is one GREAT grill. I would highly recommend this grill. The price is right and it cooks great. I received this grill 6-24-09 and have cooked pork chops and chicken on this grill to perfection. It has the smokey grill taste you would expect and the food was not overcooked. The only assembly requirement is to attach the base to the grill. This took maybe 10 minutes max. I plan to cook beef tendeloin tomorrow night.
